Legacy Rescue’s foster program allows us to rescue, socialize, and place our dogs in loving, forever homes. As a foster parent, you will provide care, a safe environment, and love for one of our dogs until it is adopted.
FOSTERING IS ESSENTIAL
The fostering of Legacy dogs is an essential part of our rescue process, and we can’t rescue without you!
As a foster you:
- Offer one of our dogs a safe, loving, and low stress environment, and provide the dog with the chance to start recovering from all that it has been through to get to this country;
- Provide our dogs the opportunity to interact with caring people and other animals away from the shelter environment, as a necessary part of successful socialization.
- It also provides us with valuable insights into the dog’s social skills, physical needs, and temperament, which then helps us to match our dogs with the best possible homes.
We are building a network of foster families throughout the New England states. Fostering a Legacy dog is something the whole family can get involved in to help dogs in need, and knowing that you are helping a dog who has never known love or security is wonderful experience!
As a foster you may be asked to care for a dog who is recovering from surgery, is too young to re-home, or perhaps isn’t able to cope with living in a shelter.
